About

Dr. Charles Pezeshki

Known as “Dr. Chuck” across the Pacific Northwest and the world, is a professor of engineering at Washington State University. Dr. Chuck made significant contributions to the development of chaos theory early in his career and currently works on developing a new field of understanding knowledge creation, with a special focus upon how organizations create both coherence and new information. This new field is called Structural Memetics, and it deeply assists leaders in all domains of society to understand how their own minds work – particularly under pressure –  as well as their colleagues, organizations, customers and competitors.  Structural Memetics also brings a deep understanding around how social networks create information and knowing for their participants, and how they limit knowing. Currently, Dr Chuck runs a large Design Clinic program at WSU noted for transitioning 3000 young people from students to productive engineers.  He has worked with over 100 corporate clients of all sizes along the way, with over 500 shared projects, and has a profound understanding of creating environments that allow the genesis of high performance innovation teams. He also lectures on next-generation leadership of social networks, and the evolution of healthy, productive work environments outside most of the current, constrained academic paradigms. Dr. Chuck has spent decades kayaking on white water around the world, and his writing can be found on his blog (http://empathy.guru).
